The Young REALTIST® Division of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, Inc. was created and approved by the NAREB Board of Directors as a NAREB affiliate division in 1996.  We are aware of the challenges in the real estate market for African American and minority real estate professionals, consumers, and communities. We’re particularly concerned about the low homeownership rates among millennials, especially in Black and minority communities across America. 

We are committed to solving this issue by growing the YRD community through membership and providing our expertise in making a positive impact within the neighborhoods that we serve and increasing our overall community wealth to establish sustainable change. 

The “Young” in YRD was intended to have multiple meanings:

· Young within the Industry – Individuals that are new to real estate-related professions.

· Young within the NAREB organization – Typically means that you’ve been a member for

less than 3 years or if you haven’t been to at least 3 National Conventions / Mid-Winter

Conferences.

· Young at Heart – This is a very special and needed category that’s vital to the success and

guidance of the YRD organization.
